Grief & loss

There is no right way to grieve.

Loss can change the shape of everyday life. Therapy offers a place where you do not have to hurry your grief, make it easier for other people, or pretend you are doing better than you are.

Making room for grief

Grief is not a problem with a deadline.

Grief can be sadness, anger, numbness, relief, guilt, confusion, exhaustion — sometimes all within the same day. It can come in waves, disappear for a while, and return when you least expect it.

Therapy is not about helping you “get over” someone or something that mattered. It can be a place to understand what the loss means to you, tend to what hurts, and gradually learn how to carry it differently.

Loss takes many forms

Not every loss is recognized by the people around us.

You may be grieving a death, a relationship, a friendship, a role, a future you imagined, or a version of life that no longer exists. Some losses are clear and public; others are private, ambiguous, or difficult to explain.

Whatever brought you here, you do not need to prove that your loss is significant enough to deserve care.

How we work

At your pace, without a timetable.

Our work may include making space for emotion, managing the practical demands of daily life, navigating changing relationships, finding ways to remember and honor what mattered, and rebuilding a sense of meaning or direction when you are ready.

There isn't one right reason to come to therapy.

You might be here because…

Someone important to you has died.
You're facing anticipatory grief or an ongoing loss.
A relationship or friendship has ended or changed.
You're grieving a role, identity, dream, or future you expected.
Other people seem to think you should be “moving on” by now.
You are functioning on the outside but carrying a lot underneath.

Grief does not need to be rushed into a lesson or a silver lining. Sometimes healing begins with having somewhere you are allowed to tell the truth about what you lost.

You don't have to figure it all out first.

A free 15-minute consultation is a chance to ask questions, tell me a little about what brings you to therapy, and see how it feels to talk together.
